Lionel Messi will not participate in the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, alongside Rodrigo De Paul, as they both continue their 21-day rest following Argentina’s run to the 2026 World Cup final. Four roster changes were made today, as Hugo Cuypers (Sold to Monterrey) and Mbekezeli Mbokazi (lower body injury) were also removed from the roster.
The four players chosen as the replacements were Yannick Bright (Inter Miami), Andres Cubas (Vancouver), Philip Zinckernagel (Chicago), and Guilherme (Houston). The 2026 MLS All-Star Game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET. The match features the MLS All-Stars facing the Liga MX All-Stars at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
