The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil is beginning to take shape, and this time the invitation isn’t just for those who will be in the stands. More than 6,000 volunteers will be selected to help out during the tournament, which will be held in eight Brazilian cities. Those chosen will have the opportunity to experience the World Cup from the inside and participate in various roles essential to the competition’s success.
How can you become a volunteer for the 2027 Women’s World Cup?
Those interested should visit FIFA’s official volunteer community at volunteer.FIFA.com, select the option for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil, and complete the application form along with a brief online assessment.
FIFA noted that the expression of interest, which began in July, does not constitute a formal application. Therefore, those who previously expressed their intention to participate must complete the application process again.
The call for applications will be open for a limited time, so the organization recommends that interested individuals submit their applications as soon as possible.
What are the requirements to be a volunteer?
To participate in the selection process, applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application and must be Brazilian citizens or have legal authorization to enter Brazil during the competition.
Volunteers must also be available to work between seven and ten shifts during the tournament’s operational period, scheduled for June and July 2027.
No prior volunteer experience is required. However, knowledge of Portuguese or English is essential, while proficiency in other languages will be considered a plus during the selection process.

The program will be active in the eight cities hosting the Women’s World Cup:

- Fortaleza

Volunteers will be able to perform duties at stadiums, airports, hotels, training centers, and other venues related to the tournament’s organization.
Available areas include media, technology, transportation, competition management, and ceremonies, among more than 30 different roles.

Although volunteering is unpaid, FIFA offers various benefits to those who are selected.
Participants will receive specialized training, meals during their shifts, a full adidas uniform, transportation options within the host cities, and other recognition items. But perhaps the biggest draw is the chance to be part of the team behind one of the world’s most important sporting events.
The call for volunteers is already generating excitement. As of July, more than 100,000 people had expressed interest in participating, although FIFA clarified that this preliminary registration does not replace the formal application.
