FC Barcelona opened their Champions League campaign in style with a dominant 5-1 win over Feyenoord at the Camp Nou. Lamine Yamal was once again the star of the match, scoring a free-kick and providing two assists.
Straight from the jump for Barca
Barcelona have been on a goal-scoring rampage to start the season, and their Champions League opener was no different. Just three minutes into the match, Raphinha opened the scoring for Barca. Yamal played a great ball into Raphinha, whose touch sent two Feyenoord defenders flying in the opposite direction. One-on-one with Tjark Ernst, the Brazilian forward slotted his first of the night and opened Barca’s UCL campaign.
Barca’s dominance continued throughout the first half as Adeyemi doubled the Blaugrana’s lead in the 22nd minute. Cancelo played the ball to Adeyemi, who shifted inwards and hit a right-foot curler past Ernst into the top corner.
The goal fest continued in the second half
Raphinha’s elite offensive presence continued with another great goal in the 57th minute. Pedri played a lovely ball into space for Raphinha, who was never going to miss a one-on-one chance.
After an early contribution to Raphinha’s first goal, Lamine Yamal scored in the 77th minute via a marvelous free kick. The Spanish winger, who was given the armband following Raphinha’s exit, managed to squeeze the ball past a poorly set-up wall from Feyenoord.
Lamine Yamal made his presence known once again after providing his second assist for Barca’s 5th of the night. Yamal played a wonderful cross into the Feyenoord box, and Gabriel Jesus rose to flick the ball into the bottom-left corner past Ernst.
