The Steel Giant was treated to a true goal-scoring extravaganza. In the second match of Saturday’s round of the 2026 Apertura, Monterrey hosted the Bravos de Juárez and ended up winning by a resounding 6-1.
La Pandilla came out firing on all cylinders and, practically from the opening whistle, made it clear they were determined to take home the three points.
And they certainly did.
Orellano kicked off the scoring for Monterrey
Barely five minutes had passed when Luca Orellano stepped up to open the scoring.
The Rayados’ No. 10 seized the opportunity and made no mistake in front of Jurado’s goal. With a superb finish, he sent the ball into the back of the net to quickly make it 1-0.
Juárez was just beginning to find its footing when the second blow came.
In the 15th minute, a cross found Diego Rossi, who controlled the ball with his chest and, without letting it drop, unleashed a powerful left-footed shot.
The shot hit the post before finding the back of the net.
It was 2-0 for Monterrey, and the night was starting to look very difficult for the Bravos.
Cuypers made it 3-0, and Juárez responded

Rayados’ offense continued to run wild.
In the 29th minute, the Monterrey team capitalized on a poor clearance by Juárez. Monterrey regained possession, and Hugo Cuypers stepped up to score the third goal of the night.
The score was now 3-0, but the Bravos still managed to mount a comeback.
Three minutes later, in the 32nd minute, José Rodríguez sent a great assist to Óscar Estupiñán, who calmly finished past “Mochis” Cárdenas.
Juárez pulled one back, making it 3-1.
But the Rayados’ response came before halftime.
In the final minutes of the first half, Orbelín Pineda stepped up to score Monterrey’s fourth goal, making the score 4-1 at halftime.
Ocampos worked his magic in the second half
With a comfortable lead, Rayados came out for the second half without letting up too much.
Juárez tried to compete for possession and create danger, but Monterrey continued to find open spaces.
In the 62nd minute, one of the night’s best moments unfolded.
Lucas Ocampos received the ball outside the box and unleashed a spectacular shot that flew straight into the top corner, well beyond Jurado’s reach.
The play also featured a backheel assist that added even more brilliance to the goal.

Aldo De Nigris made his debut with Rayados
The rout also featured a special moment in the history of the Monterrey team.
In the 64th minute, Aldo Patricio De Nigris entered the game to make his debut in a Rayados jersey.
With that, the De Nigris surname returned to the Monterrey team—a name that holds special significance among Pandilla fans.
Fimbres and Juárez came close to scoring spectacular goals
Although the outcome was practically decided, there was still time for some great plays.
In the 79th minute, Íker Fimbres struck the ball on the volley and came very close to scoring one of the best goals of the matchday.
The shot ended up crashing directly into the top corner of the goal defended by Jurado.
Juárez also had his chance to score a spectacular goal.
In the 82nd minute, José Rodríguez tried to catch “Mochis” Cárdenas off guard with a shot from outside the box, but the ball ended up hitting the crossbar.
“El Corcho” Rodríguez sealed the rout
Just when it seemed that 5-1 would be the final score, there was still one last goal to come.
The one tasked with capping off the celebration was Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez.
The midfielder popped up inside the box and connected with a header to make it 6-1, putting the icing on the cake of a night completely dominated by Monterrey.
Rayados had a perfect night
With six goals and a dominant offensive performance, Monterrey defeated FC Juárez 6-1 and secured a victory that is sure to leave their fans very satisfied.
Orellano, Rossi, Cuypers, Pineda, Ocampos, and “Corcho” Rodríguez were the ones who found the back of the net.
For the Bravos, Estupiñán scored the border team’s only goal, but it wasn’t enough to prevent one of the most lopsided routs of the matchday.
La Pandilla turned the Gigante de Acero into a true celebration and sent a clear message in this 2026 Apertura: when Monterrey finds open spaces, it can do a lot of damage.
