Barcelona are coming off the back of a 5-0 victory against Valencia, solidifying their presence as the best team in Spain. Whatever Barcelona does, it just seems to be turning to gold at the moment. Furthermore, with Spain captain Rodri coming in from City, Barca’s midfield has just catapulted to a different dimension. With his first start vs. Valencia, Rodri put together a great performance highlighted by his 98% pass accuracy (81/83) and 6 recoveries. Moving forward, it is likely that Rodri and Pedri will be the most used midfield pair in the team’s biggest matches.
Potential for one of the best attacks in football history
It is safe to say that Barcelona are not shying away from the goals this campaign. With many concerns about their lack of a striker signing after losing Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, they seem to be doing fine without a traditional number 9. With Raphinha operating in a free role whilst making blind runs in behind the backline and getting into good positions, he seems to be filling that number 9 void better than most actual number 9s in the world would. The Brazilian forward is already leading the league’s scoring chart and is well on course to beat his personal best stats record of 2024-25.
Raphinha is not the only player firing from all cylinders, with Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal also getting in amongst the goals, with the Spanish duo netting four goals each so far in La Liga.
