Barcelona has confirmed the return of a legendary figure: Sergio Busquets is rejoining the Catalan club. The former midfielder will join the club’s B team, where he will serve as an assistant coach working alongside Juliano Belletti.

Busquets, who ended his 15-year stint in the Barça midfield in 2023, took on one final challenge with Inter Miami. After wrapping up his playing career by winning the MLS title in late 2025, the Badia del Vallès native is returning home to begin his coaching career.

His legacy in the Blaugrana jersey is impressive: he played in 722 matches and won 32 titles, including 9 La Liga titles, 7 Copa del Rey titles, 7 Spanish Super Cups, 3 Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups, and 3 Club World Cups.

On the international stage, he also made his mark with the Spanish national team, racking up 143 appearances and becoming a World Cup champion in 2010 and a European champion in 2012.

Regarding his appointment, Barcelona’s board emphasized that Busquets’ vast experience, knowledge, and unique understanding of the game will be key assets to Juliano Belletti’s coaching staff, with the primary goal of fostering the development and growth of young talents in the reserve team.
