On Saturday, Major League Soccer (MLS) featured a full slate of 15 games, highlighted by a standout performance from LAFC, who secured another dominant victory. There were numerous goals scored throughout the day, with the most coming in New England’s 4-1 win against Atlanta. The only scoreless match of the matchday was Minnesota and Vancouver’s 0-0 draw.
LAFC win their 4th straight
LAFC have played and won three matches in the last 10 days, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one in that span. The duo of Bouanga and Son continued their elite offensive form, with the Gabonese forward scoring a pair of goals and providing an assist for Martinez’s goal. Son has scored in three straight games, and LAFC now sit alongside Vancouver and San Jose at the top of the Western Conference with 33 points. Next up for LAFC: a trip to Canada to play Vancouver.
Inter Miami apply pressure in the East
It was not the best of starts for Inter Miami this season, but they have quietly gone on a six-game winning streak. Without Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul out following the World Cup, Inter Miami have won both of their games without the Argentine duo and have now been boosted by the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. The former Man United star played the full 90 minutes and will now play a key role for Miami moving forward. Following Nashville’s loss to DC United, Inter Miami are just two points behind the leaders of the Eastern Conference.
