Robert Lewandowski named MLS Player of the Week for Matchday 19

Chicago Fire FC forward Robert Lewandowski was named Major League Soccer‘s Player of the Week for Week 19 of the 2026 MLS season. The star Polish striker scored two goals in his Chicago home debut victory against Charlotte FC, marking the 721st and 722nd goals of his club and international career.

Chicago fell behind early on Saturday, but Lewandowski equalized just two minutes later for his first MLS goal. The Fire striker went on to score the winning goal in the 68th minute, securing his first MLS Player of the Week award. Lewandowski is the first Chicago player to win this award since Tom Barlow in 2025 and the first Polish player to win since Karol Swiderski in 2022.

Next up for Lewandowski and Chicago is their Leagues Cup match against Necaxa on Thursday, August 6.
